Nice hun.

On another flip side, it’s sad what North Americans worry and complain about after seeing something like this.

We worry because our kids drank out of plastic baby bottles that were recalled. We complain and stress over trans fats and quality of tap water.

North America is wack.

That rips my heart out.  And I know it’s partially my fault because I don’t give enough.  But imagine if we took all that money we are spending in FUCKING Iraq and spent it on hunger resolution instead.  What if  instead of giving people GMO corn, we taught them to farm sustainably, what if we gave the world clean water to drink, what if we spent our money on developing an AIDS vaccine rather than garnering the revenues from the drugs with which we treat it.

I’ve always thought that blogging was a way to organize.  We’re women, we have a voice and OOOH baby, we have power.  Let’s do it.

Re the recipe.  If you use lite coconut milk and brown rice, it’s all good.

It is so hard to watch.  Heartbreaking actually.

On the flip side… my sister lived in Africa for 3 years and watched the village breath.  She said that they are so grateful and so happy with life and so in love with Allah?  Is that the spelling?  The Muslim God.  Everything is in HIS hands.

Last time she visited, last summer, she brought her village mom one extra pot for cooking (since she had only 2) and the village mom got so incredibly angry with her since she knew of a mother in the near by village with only one pot. My sister walked miles to hand over this pot… and then THAT village mom got angry because she already had one and she knew of someone that had none.

It is a different world.  Hard for us to watch and imagine.  They do not know our world.

I hope that one day our world will be able to focus more on love… pure love like they have.  That would be cool.

Seeing stuff like that just makes me want to DO something. Actually, there was just a group from S. Africa at our church, and the guy said something like, we speak of loving God, but we don’t LIVE it, here in America. And he’s right. That group was the happiest, most grateful, spiritual group ever. They have very little, and yet they praise God every day, all the time.
Here, we bitch about everylittlething. Those people are all, “Praise God”.
It’s astounding.

I have never been prouder of my Mum than I am right now, watching that video. I may complain about her as an overbearing mother, but she’s devoted her life to women’s and children’s rights, and she works for Comic Relief (http://www.comicrelief.org), which organizes Red Nose Day (http://www.rednoseday.com/).

It astounds me what people go through while even in financially shaky times so many of us still manage to live so much better as if we are more human than some other humans living some other place. Heartbreaking.

Hate to be the dissenting voice here, but God doesn’t make those things happen, nor does He make “us” ignore it.  We as human beings choose-yes, CHOOSE-to do that, not God.  And I think you did a great thing by reminding us that this is going on, but also, let’s be realistic-are you going to put a button on your blog to have people donate $$ to Third World countries?  Of course not; none of us are.  Because we are selfish, greedy bastards who like to talk abotu everything that is “wrong” wit hthe world but aren’t going to get up off our fat American asses and do anything about it.  Just saying.

I’m not even talking about the fact that most of the world ignores it – I just can’t see myself praying or testifying or thanking God for my numerous blessings when this same God is allowing that to happen elsewhere. What makes me or anyone else more worthy of a decent life than them? I just don’t get it.

Even if I could believe, that’s just not my kind of God. *shrugs*

That made me cry.  I know that you and I disagree on matters of faith, but I think we can both agree that more needs to be done to help those poor children.  America needs to put their money where it’s needed most.

Hey, I know this has nothing to do with this topic, but I saw this on your blog and could not overlook it.

I’ve agreed with Tupac ever since I read the Vibe interview he did while in prison for the alleged rape, sooo many years ago.
I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said, Let’s figure out a way to control motherfuckers. That’s why they came up with the Bible. Cause if God wrote the bible, I’m sure there would have been a revised copy by now. ‘Cause a lot of shit has changed. I’ve been looking for this revised copy-I still see that same old copy that we had from then. I’m not disrespecting anyone’s religion, please forgive me if it comes off that way, I’m just stating my opinion.”

Believe in good advice, believe in doing good and believe in doing good for others. That’s all !  I read the bible, yes things have changed, but the truth was the same long ago as it is today. The reality is that if we don’t start making changes for the better we’re gonna be in for some struggles in the near future.

If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”   John 8: 31,32

I like your vibe, you have a good heart, regardless of what you or anybody else may think, but do not lay it to waste! Please, if you have the time come check out my blog @ eblogger. I saw your comments @ Raw Dawg Buffalo, so you can link me from there. Kyfs is my eblogger name.

Much Love and Respect Maria…

I am totally with you.  When I learned (by accident) what Sharon Stone said about the bad karma on the Chinese for the way they were treating the Tibetans, I wondered what kind of god takes a government’s evil policies out on it’s people.
