Oh cruel Gods why do you always want the good ones?
What did The Sway ever do to you?? You’ve already demolished the appearance and reputation of my childhood hero, Joseph Dredd. Why go after Dalton too? Fucking A! And I swear; you’d better be done with Frank Dux or I might have to start slicing up priests.
You take mine – I’m gonna go after yours.
Actually, I might have to do that anyway if you really let Leonardo DiCaprio tarnish the good name of Kaneda. I’m just sayin’…

I watched a fairly good film yesterday entitled The Lookout. It’s about a man who was a high school hockey star before causing a horrible car accident that killed two of his friends, decapitated his girlfriend and left him with severe brain damage. He lives a sequenced life: dependent on patterns, routines, his blind roommate and a small notepad on which he writes everything. He ends up being seduced into a plot to rob the bank he works at as a janitor by people who make him feel ‘normal’ again. His desire to be his old self consumes him, and gets him into trouble and it goes from there.
Joesph Gordon Levitt was really good at evoking sympathy but not pity. Jeff Daniels was amazing as the concerned but not overbearing roommate. I recommend it. If you like drama, if you like smaller scale films, I think you’ll like it.

It’s my friend Star’s birthday today. She’s an old woman now. She just started her blogger blog and I demand that you all visit her. She’s the awesome and I know you’ll love her. Now if I can only convince my conscious, Lucky, to come over here too, I’ll have virtually no more use for MySpace…

Not Patrick Swayze… My day is ruined.
Patrick Swayze is one of the few nice guys in acting. I remember they made fun of him in Clerks the Cartoon and there was some story about how he thought it was hilarious. Which I thought spoke so highly of him.
This is my favorite blog ever, because I’m in it. ;) Thank you, though. 26 is starting much better than 25 did. Even though I’m oldish.
Oh, but you ALWAYS need Myspace! ;)
How else will you get the material for the weird stalker guys’ pick up lines? Gotta keep those coming!
Hugs!
I was sad to hear about Patrick Swayze too. Dirty Dancing was the movie of my childhood. (Though I later found out that somehow my parents managed to keep us from seeing certain parts… how they did, I will never know!)
Thanks for the movie tip. I love indie films. Now, I am going to shut up and go check out Star.
I’m beginning to re-think my love for you when you call a woman turning 26 “old.”
Dirty Dancing and Patrick Swayze rock. The Sway will pull thru this!
NO body backs baby into a corner… just like in RoadHouse, Sway will kick C’s ass.
Poor Patrick Swayze. It happens to the best of the best with honors.
I saw that movie. I can’t remember if I liked it or not. I seem to remember it dragging on a long time before there was any real action and my husband complaining about that, but that’s happened during so many movies we’ve watched together that I could be confused.
I couldn’t believe it when I heard about Patrick Swayze. Just doesn’t seem possible.
This is Luck
I don’t blog often enough for a site that’s exclusively for writing. I just read about Swayze in Miss Mass’ group, I don’t really feel anything about it. That makes me a bad person. I’ve come to the conclusion that at some point, soul sucking demons yanked a portion of my feelings out, leaving me only with rage sadness and pure delight. I don’t really feel empathy/sympathy or any of those other feelings that I should. Like with Patrick it’s a sense of [insert empathy here]. Maybe I should go on Dr. Phil. You should write a heart felt letter about me and my condition. Did you know that in the 4+ years that I’ve known K he’s never seen me cry. Did I ever tell you that, I think it’s extremely bizarre, I’m broken Maria :(. And I cry all the time and he’s done some tear worthy shit good and bad and I just won’t. I can sometimes feel the tears and I fight them back. Oh, I might be out your way at some point to see my Uncle, I’ll keep you posted. Happy Birthday Star!!! Will she get that, you should let her know that I said something. It’s a huge deal I’m rather self centered. My new friend David said that I see myself as far my malevolent than I actually am. He thinks I’m sweet everyone thinks I’m sweet but me. I want a chicken pot pie, it’s my new favorite thing, I change a lot so next week it might be burgers. He also calls me coy I don’t know what that means exactly. It could be code for I have large breasts…j/k. Kiss your girls for me… I think I’ve typed enough.
I am loving the hover link surprises!! Now, can you teach me in a version kindly to those with a dash of the downs?
Oh God, I wonder how pony boy is taking it?
OH RELAX I’M NOT BEING IRREVERENT. We’re sad here, too. My husband announced it first thing before 7am. That’s big news in our house. It’s very sad – and pancreatic cancer? That’s one of the worst.
*sigh*
Movies. I remember movies….
“Noooo, not PATRICK!!! Take Jennifer Grey instead!!! No one recognizes her with that terrible nose job anyway!!”
