On again, off again reader, never posted. Two things:
I got crazy in my family…lots of crazy. Don’t let the hatred consume you, it rots from the inside out. You, not them. They don’t get affected by your hate, they either don’t notice, or don’t care. So don’t let that “black” spread from them to you…
Any kind of violence, actual or threatened near your kids will fuck them up. I was in Law Enforcement long enough to see what it does to them. It’s NEVER all right. You need to involve the cops, or let someone else take care of this. Don’t give in to your desires after you publicly declared your intent to do so. Don’t let “him” take your kids’ mom away from them.
Just my two cents. (And since you don’t know me, it’s probably worth less than a penny.) Keep the faith, and don’t let bastards get on your six.

Last night, I didn’t see the weapon, and neither did my girls – we were outside, but supposedly it was pulled out and placed on a table along with the words ‘I’ll kill him’ referring to my 18 year old brother.
My uncle is a horrible, horrible person, and I’m glad that finally my grandparents were finally able to see that last night – the denial they held was ridiculous. They called the police, but of course there was nothing the cops could do without him having actually harmed someone.
He’s basically been cast out now – hopefully for good. I’ve never, ever liked him, and that was mainly because since I was a toddler, I knew he couldn’t stand me. Long story there. *lol* But – I barely even think about him. I’m usually very ‘whatever’ regarding him, but last night, that was sort of impossible.

Yes, it is hard for cops to take action in family matters, because it is always hard to know who is telling the truth, versus trying to use the police to “get” a family member. However, in your case, going on what you wrote about your uncle, I will assume someone who is that low-down, has had run-ins with the law before. It is MUCH easier to get the police to act on verbal information when the subject of the info has a criminal record. Remember, just like everything else, there are good cops and bum cops. Just because some bum wouldn’t act doesn’t mean none of them will act. Your Gram could call again, and explain what happened to another cop or detective, and she/you might be pleasantly surprised. (Sorry for the novelette.) Good luck.
